First tub bath!

Almost 30 days old and that dang umbilical cord finally fell off.  Mom has been chomping at the bit to give Cam a bath and use all her new baby bath gear. ;)  Cam likes it!

Look out for a naked baby...

Nailed our 2 week check ups

As you all know, a lot goes on in 2 weeks with a baby! H and I have been figuring out baby, our teamwork, supplies, and our systems. I've said it before and I'll say it again....I can't believe how much stuff you need for a baby. And I swear we aren't overdoing it. You know the parents who buy everything in sight for baby and it sits in piles around the house. So glad H and I are on the same minimal page.

Cam passed a series of follow up tests including his 2 week pediatrician check up. He's gaining weight, eating super strong, and getting strong. He's pushing his way around (arms & legs) and let's you know if he doesn't like what you are doing. A few times he's managed to roll himself onto his side or tummy. Tough little bugger. We are thankful he's a happy baby and so far rarely fussy. Most of the time he's quiet, content, or sleeping. Fingers crossed that lasts!

H had her 2 week follow up exam last week and also passed with flying colors! She is a fast healer.  SO happy both mom and baby are A-OK. H is doing really well with Cam all the way around. She's already a great mom and shooting for supermom. :) I love how she stays flexible and patient while figuring out all this newness. She definitely has a tough job feeding that hungry shark!

We've been testing ourselves with family outings. We took Cam out to Washington Park for the first time in his super cool stroller. He was so excited he slept through the whole walk. :) We're also running errands, buying groceries, and just getting out when needed. We have been trying out the Moby wrap too and it's pretty awesome. H's energy is coming back so she's doing great and she let's me know when it's time to recharge, feed, or sleep.

Finally, Cam's official to the U.S. & State of Colorado as he received his birth certificate and SS card today.  Look out now...

It's a boy!!

We are so proud and excited to introduce you all to Cameron William Thompson.  Baby Cam was born on Friday January 6, 2012 at 5:39pm.  He has an awesome faux hawk of brown hair, is 21" long, and weighs 7lbs 5oz.

The delivery was a bit of crazy ride so we are still at the hospital making sure baby and momma are in tip top shape.  Not to worry just some minor stuff and normal testing.

I have a ton of awesome pics and video to pull together into Cam's birth story, so in the meantime enjoy these fun pictures!

Wedding Band

I'm a ring findin machine!

H's ring is stainless steel and she really wanted a stainless steel wedding band with a channel set diamond pattern. She poked around for a couple days and then handed her burden off to me.

I'm not braggin, but I'm pretty salty with a browser and Google search. I sent her a number of different options and she decided she liked the full eternity ring--which is a channel set pattern all the way around, rather than a half eternity setting. It took a few hours, and I was able to find ONE (seriously) vendor who had the full eternity, in a stainless steel, in a size 4, less than 3mm.

She approved, I ordered, and we received the ring last week. It looks beautiful, matches, and she loves it! Three for three baby...

Thanks Internet, Google, and online ring vendors....I couldn't have done it without you. And if you've never considered buying a ring online, we've had three great experiences. :)

The Dress

The adventure to find "The Dress" was far easier than I ever imagined. While Nate and I were east coast visiting I arranged a day to shop with my friend Christie, aka "Mahoney". There are so many versions of Christie's in our lives we often refer to her as "Mahoney". Mahoney lovingly agreed to drive me around and give her expert opinion, she is so helpful.

The first stop was a pricey boutique in Rockville, MD. It offered some great options, but all of the dresses were only available in large sizes so it was tough to visualize myself in them. The sales associate wouldn't allow us to take any pictures because they were designer dresses. After an hour or more and about 12 dresses later we moved on to the 2nd stop. My expectations for the day were to get a better idea of what style of dress I wanted. I had an idea of what I was looking for in my mind, but hadn't see it in person, yet. So off to our 2nd stop, David's Bridal. We walked in and we were immediately greeted and given a sales Representative, Amanda. She was so friendly and helpful it was like shopping with my two best friends. We each went to different areas and grabbed what seemed like it might be an option. Amanda and Mahoney would hold up a dress and I would nod yes or no and within 20 minutes I was in the dressing room trying on the dresses. I got to the 2nd dress and just knew from the moment I put it on, THIS IS IT! I looked at Mahoney and Amanda and said, "I'll still try the others on and then come back to this one to be sure, but this is it!" We took lots of pictures, no big name designer dresses here and no big price tags either. Made it through all the dresses and and yes, it was still the one. I couldn't decide whether I was more excited about the dress or the fact Mahoney found it on the sale rack for $99!!!! It was all coming together, I was and am so elated.

We were heading back home to Denver the following morning, I thought about carrying the dress on the airplane and decided the dress will have to be pressed before the wedding anyway. We opted to folded it into the suitcase and check it with our other bags. The dress made it home safe and sound and is awaiting the big day in our closet here in Denver...and NO Nate hasn't seen the dress!
